Friday

Friday came early today...and dark (still no power). We loaded up at 6:45 a.m. and journeyed to the Ugandan National Park. So nice to enjoy some time together and reflect on Gods grace.

Thursday afternoon

From David Mattingly

Thursday afternoon was incredibly special at RG. At 4 p.m. Our team and the people of RG gathered in the gym for a time song and fellowship with one another. Our team, the pastors, their wives and the RG teachers, embraced the spirit filled moment with humbleness.

It was with high energy and  total excitement that the children (120 +) received brand new shoes and socks for school and church. Their faces were gleaming!

This marked the beginning of our goodbyes to RG. Although we were leaving Saturday, we were blessed to have the opportunity to enjoy some down time experiencing the natural marvels our creator.

Packing, goodbyes and last minute details had to be done. This was certainly a challenge as we continued to work with the absence of electricity since Wednesday night. God provided and all was done with love and joy.

Rwanda - Friday June 5 - Arrived Newark

1 flight out of three down. We are safely in Newark and enjoying a late lunch/early dinner before our flight to Brussels. We leave in 2 hours and arrive early Saturday morning Brussels time.

We're Off -- Take 2

5 of us, Paul Gerhardt, Kristen and Jeremy Ireland and Holli and Mel Payne, are heading to Musanze Rwanda via Newark, Brussels and Kigali on planes and buses (no trains) starting this morning and arriving Saturday evening local time, approximately 30 hours of travel. We will meet up with 12 members of the Uganda team who will travel Saturday from Restoration Gateway to Kigali.

Please pray for safe travels and opportunities to rest during that travel. Pray that both groups will arrive safely in Kigali and on time with all our luggage. Pray for a smooth process of obtaining visas in the airport and passing through customs. And pray for our safe travel by bus from Kigali to Musanze.

We look forward to seeing our friends in Rwanda, both those from IPC and those that live in that beautiful country.

The Lord will keep your going out and your coming in from this time forth and forevermore. (Psalm 121:8 ESV)

June 5

The group was able to stay at a resort in Uganda last night before heading to Rwanda.  The resort also provided an amazing view of the Nile River.
